FallCUE at American Canyon High School is one of my favorite events in the year, aside from our own SGVCUE Innovation Celebration. First of all, ACHS is a beautiful, techy, well-equipped campus. Second, this event gathers some of the best people in edtech around the state. There were literally over one hundred of sessions to choose from during the two days and every presenter brought some form of inspiration. SGVCUE board members were well represented at this conference, too. Jason, Katie, Tom, Matt, April, David, and I were there networking, socializing, and catching up with other CUE members from other affiliates. Unfortunately, we did not have an affiliate meeting for our members. However, there will be one next year. At least we’re planning on having it.

I went to a session on #Flipgrid and I absolutely caught #FlipgridFever. Holy cow! I don’t know why it has taken me this long to explore the power of this tool. I will be testing this out with my college students in the coming weeks. Aside from attending sessions, a few of us presented on a variety of topics. Dave presented on robotics, Katie presented on Google Sheets integrated with math, and I presented on writing and integrating tech tools with Monica Bennett, SGVCUE’s Outstanding Teacher of the Year.

To help the teachers who were affected by the wildfires in Napa, SGVCUE has agreed to donate $1000 in Amazon, Costco, and Target gift cards. It’s our gesture to help those in our community.
